Trained by my folkartist grandmother and art major mother, my love for art shifted from childhood sketches of horses to soft watercolors and impressionistic acrylic on canvas. Now as an Environmental Sociologist, I experience my artwork as yet one more opportunity to study the human-environment intersection. My acrylic pieces, “Studies on water” reflect my love of the whimsical moods and wild blues of Lake Monona in Madison, WI, where I completed my PhD. My series, “Natural/Resources” (coming soon) meditate on the blurry lines and links between landscapes and humans.
